High-platform ball valves and ordinary ball valves have significant differences in structure, installation methods, performance characteristics, appearance, application scenarios and cost, as follows:
Structure and installation method
High-platform ball valve: It adopts a new type of ISO5211 platform structure. There is a platform on the valve stem, allowing the actuator to be directly installed without the need for a bracket. This design not only facilitates installation and disassembly, but also significantly enhances the stability between the valve and the actuator.
For ordinary ball valves, if an actuator is to be installed, a bracket needs to be added, and the valve fastening bolts should be lengthened to facilitate the installation of the bracket. This installation method is relatively complex and may affect the overall performance of the valve due to loose brackets or excessive coupling clearance.
Performance characteristics
High-platform ball valve: Due to its compact structure and high sealing performance, it has good stability and reliability and can be applied to some harsh working conditions such as high temperature, high pressure and high corrosion. In addition, the operational performance of the high-platform ball valve is also very stable and will not be affected in use due to loose brackets or excessive coupling clearance.
Ordinary ball valves: Although they also have certain performance characteristics such as corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and high-temperature resistance, compared with high-platform ball valves, their application scope may be more limited. Especially in some occasions where the performance of valves is highly demanded, ordinary ball valves may not meet the requirements.
Appearance and Craftsmanship
High-platform ball valve: It adopts silica sol casting process, and the product appearance is usually more exquisite and beautiful. Meanwhile, due to its fully welded valve body structure, the overall height is relatively low, making it look more compact.
Ordinary ball valves: Their appearance may be relatively ordinary, and due to the valve body structure connected by bolts, the overall height may be relatively high.
Application scenarios
High-platform ball valves: They are suitable for some special occasions, such as pipeline systems in industries like chemical engineering, petroleum, and pharmaceuticals, where high requirements are placed on the sealing performance, stability, and reliability of the valves.
Ordinary ball valves are more suitable for general industrial pipeline systems, such as water, steam, air and other pipelines. Different valve types should be selected according to different needs.
Cost and Maintenance
High-platform ball valves: The initial cost may be relatively high, but due to their compact structure, easy installation and stable performance, the maintenance cost may be lower in the long run.
Ordinary ball valves: They require a relatively small initial investment and are suitable for projects with limited budgets. However, in cases where frequent maintenance or replacement of components such as brackets is required, the long-term cost may increase.
